Responsibilities as per V.Ships S&QMS:
Technical Department Responsibility 3 - Generators
Responsible to the Staff Engineer for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the generators and associated machinery and equipment.
Any task assigned by the Chief Engineer
To assist the following with their responsibilities as per V.Ships S&QMS:
Assist Staff Chief Engineer with Technical Department Responsibility 2 - Main Propulsion Machinery
Responsible to the Staff Engineer for the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the
main propulsion machinery and associated machinery and equipment.
Additional Duties
• Emergency Generators
• Hydraulic valve systems
• Machinery space pumps
• Stabilisers
• Steering gear
Responsibilities
1. Maintenance, operation, repairs of plumbing and HVAC system outside Engine Room
2. Ensure proper ordering of spare parts in onboard system to complete repair jobs
3. Maintenance, operation, repair, supervision and ownership of Hotel systems (to include but not limited to the following):
a. Galley and pantry equipment
b. Provision equipment
c. Laundry machinery and equipment (main laundry as well as Guest and Crew Laundries)
d. Spa equipment (e.g. Sauna, Steam bath, beauty parlor etc.)
e. Provision Compressor Units, cold rom and refrigerator plant
f. Dining, Bar, Housekeeping pantry equipment
4. Support maintenance and repair with Safety Officer and Staff Engineer (to include but not limited to the following):
a. All fixed fire-extinguishing system for Galleys
b. Black and Grey water system
c. Deck machinery, mooring windlasses, winches and deck cranes
d. Life Boats and Tender Engines and propulsion system
e. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi machinery
f. Chlorine dosing equipment for fresh water and potable water system
g. Emergency D/Generator maintenance and test
h. Dead Ship Recovery Generator (CLIA) maintenance and test
i. Water Tight Doors and Semi-Watertight Doors hydraulic system
j. Fire sliding door pneumatic system
k. Fire Extinguishing Water pipeline and valves
l. Incinerator and garbage equipment system
m. Shell doors and platform equipment
5. Conduct daily communication and strong cooperation with the Safety Officer and Hotel Director
Safety Duties:
Participates in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions.
Must always comply with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures
